Wash your hands, the lid of the tomato can and the lemon. Also be sure to rinse the cilantro.
Drain the tomatoes; place into a medium bowl.
Add onions, garlic, peppers, lemon juice, salt, pepper, and if desired, cilantro. Mix together gently to combine.
If you like your salsa really smooth - you can put all of the ingredients in a blender to chop them up - but keep it chunky if that is how you like it.
Serving Suggestion: Enjoy as a dip with your favorite whole grain crackers and baked chips.
