Zac's World Adventure

Meet Zac Sunderland, a 16-year-old A-student that is living his dream to become the youngest person to sail around the world – by himself! Zac has been sailing since he was a small boy and with the help of his family and friends, will make his dream of sailing around the world come true!

Through Produce for Kids, other produce sponsors including Shuman Produce (RealSweet® sweet onions) and Mastronardi Produce Ltd. (Sunset® tomatoes, peppers and cucumbers) are proud to sponsor Zac’s courageous journey and will be making sure Zac eats healthy and stays strong throughout his travels! Dave Grotto, an awesome guy (and nutritionist) that knows a lot about eating healthy, will be coaching Zac on what he needs to eat and do to stay strong!

Zac’s journey began on June 14th, 2008 when he set sail from the Marina del Rey Boat Show in California. He will be at sea for 11 months and his route will have him traveling 40,000 miles around the globe by the end of his trip! That’s a long time! During his journey he will be stopping at many places around the world to see the sights and take in the culture! You can Track Zac and even read Zac’s blog (yes, he even has a computer on his boat!) to see what he’s up to on the boat!

Produce for Kids believes that Zac’s journey provides a unique opportunity to support kids who dream BIG, give them the tools to eat healthy along the way and promote fruits and vegetables around the world.
